Retire a VPN server

Before you start

• Enough capacity on another ready server
• A list of profiles still assigned to the server

Steps

1. 1

   Stop new profiles being placed on the server.

2. 2

   Review the customers and profiles still assigned to it.

3. 3

   Move or recreate their access on a healthy replacement.

4. 4

   Check that customers can connect with the replacement profiles.

5. 5

   Remove the old server after every profile has been moved.

If it does not work

Note the exact error and when it happened. Check the affected customer, server or billing connection before trying again. If you still need help, open a case and include the service reference. Do not send passwords, tokens, private keys or server credentials.
