Reconnect a rebuilt server

Before you start

• A replacement server with root access
• A plan for moving the existing customer profiles

Steps

1. 1

   Stop new profiles being placed on the old server.

2. 2

   Decide whether its existing profiles need moving or recreating.

3. 3

   Note the old server’s location and the customers still using it.

4. 4

   Add the replacement server and generate a new connection command.

5. 5

   Run the command on the replacement and check its health and capacity.

If it does not work

Note the exact error and when it happened. Check the affected customer, server or billing connection before trying again. If you still need help, open a case and include the service reference. Do not send passwords, tokens, private keys or server credentials.
